 How We Use Cookies

We use “cookies” and other technologies to enhance your online experience. A “cookie” can be either permanent (i.e., it remains on your computer until you delete it) or temporary (i.e., it lasts only until you close your browser). A “cookie” is a small text file that helps us recognize repeat visitors, facilitate the visitor’s ongoing access to and use of the site, and track usage behavior and compile aggregate data that can lead to website improvements. Cookies may also help us customize certain content on the website. Cookies and other similar technologies collect non-personal information about the user of a particular Internet Protocol (IP) address. If you do not want information collected through the use of cookies, you can deny or accept the cookie feature using a simple procedure available in most browsers. If you block cookies, however, you may lose some website functionality.

 Credit Card Information

TMLRC takes reasonable steps to design and manage our websites’ technology to ensure that its information technology systems, applications, and information technology infrastructure are secure. TMLRC uses outside vendors to provide certain services including companies that process credit card transactions for TMLRC. These third-party vendors will have access to the information needed to perform their functions, but may not use your information for any other purpose.

We use a variety of safeguards to protect the security of your credit card transactions. We work with third-party vendors to process credit card transactions and those companies may use technologies and processes that include encryption, access controls, network firewalls, physical security and other security measures. TMLRC uses the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol in a first line of defense to the gateway of other third-party security features when accepting credit card information. These measures make it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept the credit card information you send to us.

Use of Your Information

If you provide TMLRC with personal information when you visit our website, we may use the information in our programs, projects and activities. We may enter your name into one of our databases so we can contact you to obtain your input, provide information about our programs and events, or request contributions. On occasion, TMLRC may share information about you with state agencies, collaborating organizations and service providers that assist us with our activities and programs. These agencies, organizations and service providers help us with functions to develop programs, manage data and process donations. In addition, we make disclosures as required by law.

TMLRC will not sell, trade, or share personal information about our visitors, contributors or financial donors with anyone else, nor will we send mailings to our visitors, contributors or financial donors on behalf of other organizations, unless a visitor, contributor or donor has given us specific permission to do so.

Embedded Plug-Ins, Widgets, and Links

Within the TMLRC website there are embedded applications, plug-ins, widgets or links to non-TMLRC websites (collectively “content”). These sites operate independently of TMLRC and have their own privacy policies. When you visit these sites, you leave our website and no longer will be subject to our privacy and security policies. TMLRC is not responsible for the privacy or security practices or the content of other sites, and such sites are not intended to be an endorsement of those sites or their content.

There may be sites within the TMLRC network of websites where you can opt-in to receive information from non-TMLRC entities. If you opt-in at those sites, you may receive correspondences from those organizations on programs, products or services. TMLRC is not responsible for your privacy, your security or the content of other sites. If you decide to opt-out of receiving any further correspondence from a non-TMLRC entity, please correspond directly with that business or organization to be removed from its mailing list.

Note to Parents on our Privacy Policy

TMLRC welcomes children to learn more about our organization and, where appropriate, find opportunities to serve their communities through programs and volunteer activities. However, we require and encourage children to do this only with their parents’ knowledge and supervision.
